Lately, I've been thinking a lot about whimsy. In the grown-up world, where money and deadlines rule, whimsy is often left behind. People are all about wearing dress pants, paper bagging it and using public transportation. It's what they make you believe you want when you first enter this "workforce".
I think it's important to live a life full of whimsy. Or luxury. Or colour. Maybe all of the above if that's what you fancy. We get so bogged down in our day-to-day; being efficient and prepared and conventional. But maybe what we need is to waste time and take the long way around. Taking an extra 10 minutes with your cup of coffee in the morning, wearing bright colours, doing the unexpected, the impractical might not change the world, but I think it will make it a little bit of a better place.
