happy huesday - simply red

Today is a big day. It's the last day at my job, and the start of something great and new and promising. It's a real red-letter day!

happy huesday - fall colours

Completely surrounded by all the beautiful colours this season has to offer,  it's only natural that this happy huesday would be all about fall fashion. After all, Mother Nature knows best.

This season is all about nubby materials, heavy textures and rich, warm colours. It's like curling up near a crackling fire for your clothes. What better way to keep snug?

Stick to a palette of cognac, khaki green, mustard yellow, deep red, rust, burnt orange in heavier, chunkier fabrics such as leather and wool for a cozy and fashionable look. Mix rich textures with everyday staples and you can't go wrong.

mint & yellow makes mellow

Since I bought these mint-coloured pants, I have been obsessed with the colour!Mint clothes, mint shoes, mint polish, mint furniture – I love all of it. It'sversatile and contradictory; a touch vintage, but refreshing, vividyet soothing. And it pairs up well with so many colours. My fave combinationright now: mint and yellow.

happy huesday

Feminine, luxurious, romantic, with a dash of vintage delicacy, Tiffany Blue requires no grand introduction; for many it is synonymous with elegance. It draws the eye without being garish and, thanks to its famous name, subtly states the wearer's taste for the richer things in life. And though she never fashioned the Tiffany Blue hue, I can't help but think of the casual elegance and enviable innocence of one Holly Golighty. So sit back with a cup of tea, and perhaps a macaron, and settle in to the lap of luxury for a few blissful minutes.

happy huesday - bold pastels

Feminine, soft, romantic - a few words I would use to describe this season's frothy colour palette. Seafoam, lavander, apricot, mint, alice blue; all delicate, but still vibrant and eye-catching.

Wear them in flowy materials like gossamer or chiffon, and pair with more pastels for a sweet summer look. Mix it up with some basic black (or white) if you're a little wary of colours, or , for the more daring, punch it up with some in-your-face brights like hot pink or persimmon. One thing is for sure, bold pastels are a guaranteed hit no matter your style.
