rapprochez-vous

Happy Wednesday!

Here's a heart warming video with a powerful message.
The audio track is The Funeral by The Band Of Horses from the album Everything All the Time

so much

There are so many pretty images out there. They're not necessarily great works of art; they may never be framed or really appreciated. But they can makes us smile, reflect, remember; make us feel hopeful, nostalgic, festive or inspired. And that, to me, is incredible.

the bright side

Let's keep things happy, people. It's Monday - we all need it.

my fairytale wedding

This is definitely the type of wedding I wanted to plan when we first started got engaged. Events brought us down another path -probably the opposite path. Don't get me wrong, I love how our ceremony and reception are turning out, but when I dreamt of my wedding, I dream it something like this:

I supposed I'll have to make up for it by planning a great backyard party inspired by the rustic romance surrounding this beautiful Tuscan wedding.

just like holly

Someday I will make my way to NYC and have Breakfast at Tiffany's. Just because.

simple tulip

I guess it's that time of year for tulips. Never noticed so many tulips in one day. I love the simple mix of red and yellow tulips. It's enchanting.

I think I will make it a goal of mine to one day have a flower bed just for tulips.

escape

Sometimes - just sometimes - I wish I could find a wonderful hideaway that no one knows about; something remote and peaceful. You know, for those days when everyone seems to be yelling and fretting and complaining, and you think you might just go crazy.

my motto put into words

“There is no shame in eating a bit too much, laughing a bit too loud and singing even if you are tone deaf.”

sweet dreams

I have a dream of opening a quaint little ice cream/pastry shop in some sleepy little village where it's always sunny and everyone's friendly. It's one of those dreams that is just that - a dream. Something you conjur up to escape your daily routine once in a while. I have no special talent for baking and no real desire of going through the whole process of opening my own business (yet), but I like to dream of that life nonetheless.

One thing that brought this whole fantasy about are macarons. They are my happy food.

I google-imaged "macarons". How amazing are these little treats?! I mean, I've been sold on them since the first time I tried one a couple of years ago. But just seeing all those colourful images! Well, it's a thing of beauty.

Someday, I will learn to make delicious and varied macarons. My real goal may not be as lofty as opening a little sweets shop, but I'm still very excited about it!

because every little girl wants to be a princess

Someday, I'll have a little girl and I'll throw her the sweetest, girliest princess party.

A must-have for any princess party?

A princess cake!

make a wish

orange and aqua

I'm kinda loving the mix of these two colours. Together, they remind me of a very cool, almost tacky, definitely kitsch kitchen from the 60s.

you're never too old for a poster

There was a time when posters were only for angsty teenagers.Well, no more! Check out Seattle Show Posters for all the coolness.

And these are just the posters from their art print section, there's loads more! I'd be hard-pressed to pick just one.

inspiration for the artistically challenged

This quilt makes me want to run to an arts & crafts store and spend all my money on paint, brushes, easels and everything else one needs to be an artist... if only artistic talent could be purchased, I'd be all set.

superhero for a day

There's no doubt that the Make-A-Wish Foundation does great things, but the effort that went into making a little Seattle boy's dream come true is truly touching. Have you read this story? If not, check it out here. Go on, I'll wait...

One of the sweetest stories ever, right!? Made me cry a little, which really doesn't say much - a really cute puppy can make me cry, but still! I bet you teared up...now, now, no need to be ashamed.
